Here is an excerpt of the complete video, available now on Raiplay, representing the 3D reconstruction of some parts of Villa Adriana.
Because of this, the Arsenale 23 agency chose FRAMES for some sites of the villa: the Maritime Theater, the Serapeum and the Canopus. The reconstruction also involved experts in Roman architecture and archaeologists, with the aim of reproducing as faithfully as possible, according to the studies carried out by experts over the years, the splendor of the residence of the emperor Adriano.
The challenge in this case was most concentrated on reproducing the reconstructed sites as faithful as possible.
For this reason, meetings were held with archaeologists and specialists of Roman architecture, obtaining a result which, the archaeologists think, is very likely to the Villa at the time of the emperor.
The integration with the footage, camera or drone, has been simplified by the use of Houdini; procedural modeling to create the architectures rendered the matching phase more simple.
